Single Stage Filtration: Pre Filters

Standard Air Filter Housing Overview:

Air Filters, Inc. Standard filter housings (SASH's) are designed to hold two stages of filtration. Each housing shall accommodate a 2” OR 4” deep pre-filter and a bag OR rigid final filter with a 1” header. Units are offered in three housing depths, 22-1/4”, 34-1/4”, and 42”.

Housing depths are determined by the final filters that are required per applications. The housing are intended for new and replacement applications. Unites are factory assembled in a "one-piece rugged construction," and reinforced with corner gussets to add extra stability. Each unit is supplied with 1" flanges on the entering and leaving sides of housing for easy installation to the duct and air handling systems. Access doors shall be fully gasketed around the perimeter with a closed cell neoprene gasket to ensure an air tight seal when closed. A closed cell urethane foam is included on the inside of the doors and walls to seal against the filter edge to eliminate air by-pass. After fabrication units shall be sealed with a silicone compound on areas where metal meets metal, assuring a sealed housing.

Air Filters, Inc. offers optional construction on the SASH's including metal type, special flanged, insulation, weatherproofing, custom sizes, and any specified construction applications. With Air Filters, Inc Standard Air Filter Housing, there's no time consuming problems of field installation, modular sections, or add-on sections.

Standard Construction:

Sizes: Available sizes start from 1/2 high x 1/2 wide and range up to 4 high x 6 wide up to 42" in depth.
Cabinet: 16 gauge galvanized steel.
Filter Rack: Extruded aluminum filter track with integral nylon pile seal. Track will accommodate a 2" deep pre-filter
Finish: Mill finish interior and exterior.
Access door: One hinged door is provided on housings 2 wide and smaller. Two hinged access doors will be provided on housings 2-1/2 wide and over. Access doors are fitted with positive pressure trip-lock latches. Door perimeters are sealed with a closed cell neoprene gasket. Urethane foam (two-pound density) is installed around the inside of doors to ensure a tight seal on filters.
Reinforcement: Vertical supports on units 2 wide and over are proved typically on every 24" centers. Corner gussets are also provided for rigidity.

• 4"/1" Filter Track: Extruded aluminum track to hold a 4" deep pre-filter and final filter with 1" header.
• 304 SS Construction: Housing and filter track shall be constructed of min. 16 gauge up to 12 gauge.
• 316 SS Construction: Housing and filter track shall be constructed of min. 16 gauge up to 12 gauge.
• Aluminum Construction: Housing and filter track shall be constructed of .080 (3003) aluminum.
• Weatherproofing: Includes pitched roof and rain guards over each door. All flanges will be "turned-in," width will be 2" narrower and height will gain 1" overall.
• Insulation: Single wall insulation is available. Insulation shall be 1" thick (3.0 pcf density) rigid fiberglass duct board with (FSK) foil backing. Contact factory for other types and thickness.
  Double wall insulation is available. Insulation shall be 1" thick (1.5 pcf density) fiberglass duct liner sandwiched between the outer and a 20 gauge inner liner.
• Epoxy Coating: Air-dried epoxy coating is applied on the interior and exterior of housing. Standard is grey, contact factory for other colors.
• High Pressure: High negative and positive pressure construction is available. Construction includes additional bracing to reinforce housing.
• High Temperature: Special silicone and gaskets are used for temperature applications. Please contact factory.
• Custom Sizes: Please contact factory for custom housing sizes.
• Special Flanged: Housing are available to match any duct or AHU.
• Bottom Access: Retainer clips are used to secure filters from falling when door is open.
