How Do Electrostatic Filters Work?
- A static charge is generated from the friction created as air passes through the static prone fibers, attracting and holding dust, pollen, dust mites and dander until rinsed clean.
How Often Does An Electrostatic Need To Be Cleaned?
- We recommend cleaning your electrostatic filter every 30 days, even if it doesn’t look dirty. Having a clean electrostatic filter in your AC unit will always allow the filter to perform at its best, so that it traps the most air contaminates possible.
How To Clean An Electrostatic Filter?
- We recommend vacuuming excess dirt, followed by running the filter under hot water, and then allowing the filter to dry completely before reusing. A mild detergent can be used if required. However, do not use oils, adhesives, house hold cleaners, industrial cleaners or alkali solutions as this will damage the filter. We recommend using our FilterClean™ filter spray that is formulated not only to clean but to protect and prolong the life of your electrostatic air filter.
What Modifications Are Needed To Install An Electrostatic Filter?
- NONE! The LifeTime electrostatic filter easily replaces your current throwaway or pleated filter with no tools or modifications required.
Does The Electrostatic Filter Benefit The Environment?
- Yes, because the filter is reusable, you won’t be creating any waste by having to throw away dirty filters every filter changeout.
