COVID-19 has officially been declared a Pandemic by the W.H.O. (World Health Organization)
COVID-19 has quickly spread around the globe causing widespread panic and uncertainty. Symptoms include cough, fever, and shortness of breath and is especially dangerous for people with pre-existing health conditions and elders. COVID-19 is passed from person to person, with an incubation period of about 14 days after being exposed to the virus.
Steps you can take to help protect yourself and prevent the spread of Coronavirus and other illnesses:
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water aren’t available.
- Practice proper respiratory hygiene: Cough and sneeze into your bent elbow or use a tissue, and properly dispose of the tissue in the trash.
- Avoid touching your face, eyes, mouth, or nose with unwashed hands.
- Avoid large group gatherings (greater than 50 people), when possible.
- Maintain social distancing of at least 6-foot distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing, sneezing, or appears to be sick.
- Stay home when you feel sick. If you are a running a fever, seek medical attention early.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and commonly touched objects: doorknobs, light switches, faucets, handles, countertops, keyboards, etc.
